This part of the J. Paul Getty Museum is located in Pacific Palisades, CA. The Getty Villa is modeled after a Roman country house in Herculaneum buried by the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in A.D. 79.

A lovely trip to Muir Woods. For those who are not familiar with this beautiful National Monument, it is an isolated forest of redwood trees located just north of San Francisco. It's also one of my favorite California sights.

I was able to bring my cameras for training this weekend where we had the opportunity to stay at a private cabin on Huntington Lake. We ran 10 miles around the lake on Saturday morning. The elevation (7,000 ft.), the temperature (28F) and the terrain (mostly narrow dirt trail complete with rocks and fallen trees) made it a challenge. More pre-30D shots. Took the A560 to a friend's show during a weekend visit to San Francisco in late July. The casual, intimate setup allowed me to take shots freely. Took the A560 with me on my run this morning to catch the sunrise. (The 30D doesn't exactly fit in my running shorts pocket.) Had good luck with the weather, it's finally cooled down a little bit. Mornings have been warm and sticky for the last week. I did some post-processing on these shots and half at least were taken with the "dummy" landscape setting.

06.15.07 - My younger brother's wedding. All of these photos were taken with my Canon A560 (point-and-shoot model). I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of some of the of shots. Since I was in the wedding, I was not able to carry anything larger around with me or shoot during the ceremony. Everything I have here are candids taken before and after the ceremony.
